The Weather Network teams up with Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax

The Weather Network
and Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax  are teaming up to help The Nature Conservancy of Canada.
500, 000 virtual tress planted = $25, 000 to the The Nature Conservancy of Canada.
Click that screen shot and plant some virtual tress. When the weather gets right, plant some real ones too … because unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing’s going to get better. It’s not.

Zooey Deschanel throws a mean house party!

Interactive videos are popping up everywhere. This cool little interactive piece lets you decide what Jess and her friends will do at her house party as promo for the recent hit show New Girl. The show stars Zooey Deschanel as Jess who moves in with three guys in an apartment she found on Craigslist after a messy break-up with her boyfriend. Jess has a tendency to get into awkward situations and tends to burst into song, sometimes making up lyrics reflecting her situation.
Side note: I feel as though everything should feature a dash of Zooey Deschanel… because she’s adorable and unbelievably  talented and generally kind of my favorite ever. If you swoon at the sound of Zooey’s voice you’ll be pleased to listen to her not so recent musical endeavor, She and Him. (Hint: I hate Christmas music but the Very She and Him Christmas is awesome)

But that’s neither here nor there. What are you waiting for? Let’s throw this house party!

Did the idea of paper furniture ever strike your mind?

If, I had more money than I knew what to do with, I think I’d be inclined to purchase a wardrobe made out of honeycomb paper and cardboard.
“Did the idea of paper furniture ever strike your mind?

Paper, cardboard and papier-mâché are familiar to all of us. They bring back memories of kindergarten and our first    experiences of making things. Inspired by classic icons but manufactured like modern day furniture, this cardboard flat pack furniture collection is an ode to classical style and to the material.”

Lindsay Lohan: My favorite train wreck

I dig Lindsay Lohan. And I really dig Terry Richardson. Lindsay Lohan in front of Terry Richardson’s lens is probably my favorite combo ever. Maybe it’s just Terry Richardson’s lens fooling me… But honestly, LL’s I don’t give a f— attitude just wins me over and is only enhanced by Terry’s photography. Lucky for me, it seems as though Terry can’t get enough Lindsay Lohan. After recently seeing his shoot done with LL for LOVE mag, I was pleased to find new images up from a shoot at LA’s Chateau Marmont posted today on Terry’s ‘Diary’.

I have a very sincere appreciation for the train wreck that Lindsay is and the genius that Terry is.

Art of interest: Michael C. Hsiung

I was introduced to the Human Pyramids collective by a real handsome fellow I know.
Michael C. Hsiung was one of the artists he talked about most. Discussions seemed to end with a common appreciation for the simplicity of his black and white with a dash of color style- something Hsiung is known for.
His ink drawings depict oddly realistic tales from a time long past and features imaginary characters and fantastical creatures.

OK Go … bring on the instrument cadavers

The video took 4 months of preparation and 4 days of shooting and recording. There are no ringers or stand-ins; Damian took stunt driving lessons. Each piano had the lowest octaves tuned to the same note so that they’d play the right note no matter where they were struck.
As far as I’m concerned, Ok Go, are still one of the most innovative group of dudes making music.

FINALLY: Foxy Shazam – I Like It

Honestly, if you’re still unaware of the magic that is Foxy Shazam… well, i’m sad for you.
But on a plus note, if you ever loved Queen, you’ll be pleased to find that Freddie Mercury has sent us a suffient offering in his place. Or (as many fans have been speculating) maybe Freddie went straight for a night and fathered a baby boy who grew up to sing for Foxy Shazam.
Either way, I like it.
