These are way too much fun to make.

Tavi Gevinson urges us all to just be Stevie Nicks…
Because no matter how old you are, everyday is still filled with “figuring it out”

QLOCKTWO W Watch (Time in words)
From designers Biegert & Funk comes a watch that reads words rather than numbers.
The QLOCKTWO W spells out what time it is for you in plain English (or German).
Pug Life, 4lyfe.
Maybe it doesn’t ALWAYS have to be about cats.
This is possibly the most amazing pseudo-Monday morning find ever.
Annnnd, you’re welcome.
“I do not recall any of them calling themselves artists”
Here’s a little promo for the upcoming documentary Wall Writers (director Roger Gastman—a producer of the Academy Award-nominated documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop).
It explores graffiti from it’s very beginnings- specifically “graffiti in its innocence”.
Cali-for-nia
A few weeks ago I flew over to LA to absorb some yellow people and make some art of my own.
Here’s a visual bit from that:
Bringing light to the poor, one liter at a time
A very inspiring video showcasing the most simple of innovations.
“A bottled liter of water with a few teaspoons of bleach is proving to be a successful recipe for dwellers in the light-deprived slums of the Philippines. The simple technology is spreading sunlight in places where it has never been, and saving residents money at the same time. Gemma Haines reports.”
“A Queen Street Icon Finds Its Silver Lining”

I work on Queen West. I pass the Silver Snail everyday on my way for lunch and I’ve been inside a dozen times. Sometimes just browsing, other times with a mission to find something. My first few weeks of work it was my refuge. I would go browse for my hour lunch period in an attempt to get comfortable with the area. It reminds me every day of the not so invisible kid inside me and represents youth and creativity. And it’s all inside a beautiful building – from a superhero stuccoed wall façade, creaky stairs to vintage tin ceilings. It’s a historic wonder that as of this May will mark 36 years of business. It’s always been on Queen Street, always on this block and in a few months it’ll be gone. Replaced with some cold corporate store front. Sometimes, though necessary, change is a truly sad thing.
Read Torontoist’s interview with George Zotti who owns the store here. Find out how the move is coming along and what the future holds all in a nicely edited and condensed interview.
MACNEIL BMX: Jeff Kocsis Clips
Portugal. The Man tunes lend themselves nicely to just about anything.
Proof:
Way back in ’08
These are old. Almost 4 years old. But they’re beautiful.
It is entirely necessary that I remind the world of their existence if for nothing more than their creative allure… oh and how beautiful the man behind some of the most beautiful music I’ve ever heard is. These are press shots taken for the 2008 M83 album Saturday=Youth. An album that, if you somehow never heard, you really need to dive into.
